Spring Spectacular

The girls ended their year of gymnastics with a demonstration to show off all they have learned.  We got to go into the gym with them and follow them around to the different rotation of events.  Here is a little shot of our morning...

Could there be anything cuter than these curls bouncing down the trampoline???

"Stick it!"

The tongue is out in complete concentration...

Dusty deserves a gold medal for wrangling this two year old in a gymnasium full of temping but off limits. apparatus.

Ribbons for each event!

Little brother finally got his turn...

Pickin' in the Patch

They say that it's a sign you're getting older when years start to go by really quickly.  I must be getting up there because I feel like it was JUST strawberry season.  Even so, we went out to Dempsey Farms this morning to pick strawberries.  We love our four day school week because it allows for special outings at the end of the week.  It was a little cool but very sunny and kids had a great time.  We met up with some friends from school to pick together and made our own field trip!  They all grabbed a bucket and set to work!

This kid nibbled from the minute we got there until the time we left.  A tummy full of berries...

A team effort.  On the quest to find the biggest ones for their baskets.

Nom nom nom...

"Say STRAWBERRIES!".

Heather is a fabulous photographer.  I think between the two of us, we made sure our trek was well documented :)

We sat on a hill overlooking the crops and let the kids have a snack and play.  Such a beautiful view!
Wide open spaces!

Lots of Duck-Duck-Goose...

Welcome spring.  We picked two gallons and have lots of plans for our sweet strawberries!

Family Day

Today was Family Day at Libby's School.  It was a special time to share what the students have been learning and allow grandparents, family and friends a chance to see what the school is all about.  The older students served lunch which was then followed by presentations made by each grade level.

Cute Kindergarteners singing "Green Speckled Frog".

Memorization is a big part of their curriculum.  It was so sweet to hear their little voices all together.

We were so honored to have Melanie come and be our guest for Family Day.  She took an extended "lunch break" from work and drove from Atlanta just to to attend the lunch and presentation.  How sweet was that?!?!  Thank you, Mimi!

So proud of my girl.  She only has two weeks left of school!  She said, "In two weeks, I'll be a FIRST GRADER!".  I can remember being excited to be in the next grade and claiming that new title as soon as school let out.    She has had such a great year and I'm so thankful for her teachers and sweet school.

If you ask Libby what her biggest school accomplishment is she would quickly tell you..she mastered the monkey bars!  It took her most of the year but she's got it!

Ordinary Days

Sometimes I find myself only hauling out the "real camera" for special events and holidays.  I've tried to make a point to grab it to capture our time at home.  Here's what's been going on...

"Dress as your favorite book character day" at school.

Enjoying spring weather before it becomes miserably hot in Alabama...

(This picture cracks me up! Not sure what they were "playing" here.)

Little guy has been into trees lately.  Climbing them...hitting them with sticks...breaking off leaves and bark.  Fascinated.

Passing the time when the weather is not so nice...

Tubby time...

We've had some late season visits from our furry neighbors.  I think they are enjoying our salt lick.  I shot this picture from our backdoor!

"Red Light!  Green Light!"

Our days are busy, loud, messy and, on most days, I can feel overwhelmed.
But I wouldn't have it any other way.
