First of First

Big sissy went to FIRST GRADE yesterday.

Libby was ready and excited to go and I am so thankful for that.  She is returning to her same school and will be in a class with most of the kids she was with last year in addition to a few new faces.  She said that she had a great day!

We walked her in to her new classroom yesterday morning.  I can't tell if the look on her face in this picture is her making sure I'm still with her or if she's annoyed that I'm still following her around with my camera.

Finding her cubby...

Pretending to pout. :)

We pray for a fantastic year for our girl!
We know the Lord has big plans!

Summer's End

"Weeeeeeeeeee!"

Beach Babes

I miss the beach!  We had a wonderful time in Orange Beach last week.  It was a great way to wind down our summer break.  We enjoyed five days of sand and sun and my in-laws joined us there as well.  This was the first beach trip where it sometimes felt, dare I say, RELAXING?  The kids are getting to the ages where they can play on the beach without eating sand, wandering away or having to go up to nap twice a day!  There were several times when we adults found ourselves actually SITTING DOWN IN BEACH CHAIRS while they entertained themselves.  This may not seem like a big deal, but after having a baby/toddler every summer for the last few years, this is nothing short of a miracle!!!

Here's some shots from our time...

There were lots of flips, flops and splashes...

Dusty worked with Charlie for a bit in the pool with some swim lessons.  The boy has no fear.  I hope that next summer he will be swimming and be "floatie-free".

A new favorite for beach-side dinner!

Annie probably spent more time under the water than above while we were there....

...which made for some awesome afternoon beach naps...

He is so in love with his Poppa...

The ocean was lovely all week!  Crystal clear, cool and lots of fish and rays to swim with!  Poor Annie did have a run-in with a jellyfish on our last day.  She was brave and only cried for a few minutes.

Mermaid Libby!

Thank you, Grams and Poppa, for a great vacation!

We love OBA!
